Shock-Isolated Protection for 12U Rack Equipment

The SKB 1SKB-R912U20 combines a rigid rotomolded exterior shell with a suspended internal rack frame. Adjustable elastomer shock absorbers at all eight corners help reduce the shock and vibration transmitted to properly installed equipment during compatible transport and handling conditions.

Its 12U frame provides approximately 21 inches of vertical mounting space for compatible standard 19-inch equipment. The front and rear rails are pre-threaded for standard 10-32 rack hardware, and mounting hardware is included with the case.

The rail-to-rail depth is approximately 19.875 inches. Clearance from the front equipment rail to the closed back lid is approximately 23.75 inches, while clearance from the rear rail to the closed front lid is approximately 23.5 inches. Fit calculations must account for the chassis, rack ears, fasteners, connectors, cable bends, strain relief, controls, handles, ventilation space, and every other projection.

The standard payload range is 40 to 150 pounds of installed equipment. This range is separate from the case’s approximately 61.16-pound empty weight. Full-size front and rear lids can be removed for setup, operation, inspection, maintenance, and cable access. Recessed latches reduce exterior projections, while molded-in handles provide secure grasping points. The interlocking X-pattern supports stable stacking with compatible SKB rack cases.

This shock rack does not include built-in wheels or casters. A compatible SKB caster platform is available separately. Shock-resistant construction should not automatically be interpreted as watertight, submersible, or compliant with a particular military, transportation, environmental, or ingress-protection standard.
