How do I read the dimensions of a case?
The dimensions listed in the product description will indicate whether the measurements provided
are for the inside dimensions of the case (ID) or the overall outside dimensions of the case (OD),
unless the description states “Foam to Foam,” which indicates the dimensions of the foam cavity
if applicable.
Most of our cases are fabricated at time of order. Slight variances of up to 1/8" on foam cavity
final dimensions are normal and within industry tolerances; therefore, dimensions are stated as
“Estimated.”
For more information on measuring cases, please visit "How To Measure A Case".
What is your delivery schedule?
In addition to transit time required by the shipping carrier, delivery times can vary based on
stock availability, custom requirements, and factory production times. Please see our Factory Lead Times section to help determine the time required to ship your product.
In most situations, you may select an expedited level of service to meet your delivery requirements.
Do you carry NSN (National Stock Numbered) Cases?
Yes. We carry an assortment of NSN cases. Please enter your NSN number into the search field
exactly as formatted with dashes included, for example: 8145-01-540-4437.

Do your cases meet Mil-Spec requirements?
Yes. We distribute several lines of transit and shipping containers which conform to MILSPEC
requirements such as MIL-STD 810. Please contact our sales specialists with your Mil-Spec requirements.
How much will my case weigh?
Case weights will vary from product to product. Please note, the weights and dimensions specified
in product descriptions do not include additional options added to your order.
For example, rotomolded single lid cases list the weight and outside dimensions without additional options such as casters.
Are options included in the price of the case?
No. There is an additional cost for most options. If purchasing the product through our online store,
the options will be listed as “+ $10.00” or “Add $10.00.” The base price of the product and options
will be itemized in the shopping cart.
Please note, you may not remove an option from the product once placed in the cart. You must remove
the item and re-add the product with the correct options.
How do I know what type of rackmount case I need?
Selecting your rackmount case will depend on a number of factors including shock and vibration rating, equipment weight, equipment depth, as well as transport and environmental requirements.
Our design staff will be happy to assist you in configuring a rackmount case to meet your exact needs.

Are all your cases airtight and/or watertight?
No. Airtight and watertight features vary by product line.
As a general rule, injection molded cases such as Pelican™ Storm Case™, Pelican™ Protector™, and SKB
cases feature a pressure relief valve and o-ring to create a watertight and airtight seal.
Pelican-Hardigg™, SKB, and ZERO rotomolded containers such as single lid sizes and rackmount cases require a pressure relief valve and closed-loop gasket. Pelican containers come standard with an
open-loop gasket without a PRV unless an airtight or watertight seal is specifically requested.
Anvil and ZARGES cases are classified as water-resistant containers and will require additional options
to achieve an airtight and watertight seal.
What case colors are available?
Colors applicable to each product will be listed in the product description. Depending on the
type/manufacturer of case, additional colors may be available for a minimum quantity or color charge.
Do you make custom case sizes?
Yes. Custom case sizes are available for a minimum quantity. Please contact a case sales specialist with
your requirements.

How do I know if my laptop will fit?
The product description for laptop cases and containers will indicate the dimensions of each laptop the case will accommodate or will indicate a compatible screen size.
How do I know if the product meets airline carry-on or baggage regulations?
Different airlines have different size restrictions. The general rule of thumb is 45 linear inches
(length + width + depth) with a maximum of 40 pounds for carry-on. Most checked baggage is limited
to 62 linear inches (length + width + depth) with a maximum of 50 pounds.
For a summary of airline baggage policies, see our
Travel Guidelines section and contact
your airline to confirm their current policies.
Our design staff will be happy to help you find cases that meet carry-on or luggage restrictions.
What makes a case "X-Ray" or "Checkpoint Friendly"?
Laptop cases described as “X-Ray Friendly” allow your laptop computer to remain inside the case during
airline security checkpoints. However, screening officers may still request that your laptop be removed
for inspection at their discretion.
A bag or sleeve meets checkpoint-friendly guidelines if it provides a clear, unobstructed x-ray image
of the laptop computer. In practice, this means that power cords, zippers, and buttons must not interfere
with the x-ray image.
