NSN 8145-01-603-5116 6U Shock Rackmount Case

National Stock Number 8145-01-603-5116 is associated with the SKB 1SKB-R906U20 6U, 20-inch-deep shock rackmount case. This rotomolded transport case is designed to protect compatible 19-inch rack-mounted communications, audiovisual, test, control, computing, and other sensitive electronic equipment during transportation, storage, and deployment.

The SKB 1SKB-R906U20 provides six vertical rack units, approximately 10.5 inches of usable rack height, and approximately 19.875 inches of rail-to-rail depth. The internal equipment frame includes front and rear pre-threaded rack rails for standard 10-32 mounting hardware.

Eight adjustable elastomer shock absorbers support the internal frame at its corners and help control shock and vibration along three axes. The space between the suspended frame and outer shell allows the rack to move as designed and promotes passive airflow around compatible installed equipment.

Full-size removable front and rear lids provide access to equipment controls, displays, connectors, power cables, and signal cables. Recessed latches secure the lids, while molded-in handles, shock-absorbing feet, and an interlocking X-pattern support handling and stacking.

The current SKB specifications list an exterior size of approximately 28 × 27.25 × 19.125 inches and an empty product weight of approximately 41.92 pounds. The standard shockmount configuration is published for an installed equipment payload range of 40 to 150 pounds. Payload, center of gravity, weight distribution, and mounting method must be reviewed as part of the complete rack configuration.

Confirm the required NSN, manufacturer part number, rack-unit capacity, complete installed equipment depth, payload, weight distribution, connector clearance, cooling requirements, mounting configuration, and procurement specifications before ordering.

SKB Cases | 20" Deep 6U Roto Shock Rack | 1SKB-R906U20 The 1SKB-R906U20 features a 20 inch deep tough rotomolded shell. The molded design provides extra stiffness in the lids and sides and allows for secure stacking. The case has a 20” (rail to rail) internal frame with pre-threaded rack rails for standard 10-32 hardware (included) and is mounted on adjustable elastomer shock absorbers on all eight corners. These revolutionary shocks are designed to control the effects of shock and vibration...

Shock-Isolated Protection for 6U Rack Equipment

The SKB 1SKB-R906U20 combines a rigid rotomolded exterior shell with a suspended internal rack frame. Adjustable elastomer shock absorbers at all eight corners help reduce the shock and vibration transmitted to properly installed equipment during compatible transport and handling conditions.

Its 6U frame provides approximately 10.5 inches of vertical mounting space for compatible standard 19-inch equipment. The front and rear rails are pre-threaded for standard 10-32 rack hardware, and mounting hardware is included with the case.

The rail-to-rail depth is approximately 19.875 inches. Clearance from either equipment rail to the opposite closed lid is approximately 22.875 inches. Fit calculations must account for the chassis, rack ears, fasteners, connectors, cable bends, strain relief, controls, handles, ventilation space, and every other projection.

The published standard payload range is 40 to 150 pounds of installed equipment. This range is separate from the case’s approximately 41.92-pound empty weight. A suitable configuration depends on total equipment weight, center of gravity, front-to-rear balance, vertical placement, support requirements, and the conditions the loaded rack will encounter.

Full-size front and rear lids can be removed for setup, operation, inspection, maintenance, and cable access. Recessed latches reduce exterior projections, while molded-in handles provide secure grasping points. The interlocking X-pattern supports stable stacking with compatible SKB rack cases.

This shock rack does not include built-in wheels or casters. A compatible SKB caster platform is available separately. Shock-resistant construction should not automatically be interpreted as watertight, submersible, or compliant with a particular military, transportation, environmental, or ingress-protection standard. Confirm all contract requirements before procurement.

Rackmount Integration and Configuration Options

Cases2Go provides equipment integration services for applications requiring installed electronics, horizontal support rails, connection panels, cable management, power distribution, labeling, accessory storage, or other application-specific components.

Options for the SKB 1SKB-R906U20 may include a heavy-duty payload kit, horizontal support rails, additional rack hardware, a shipping-label plate, accessory pouches, replacement shock absorbers, and the compatible SKB 1SKB-1916 caster platform. Accessory compatibility and payload effects should be confirmed for the complete configuration.

Provide the equipment manufacturer and model, rack-unit requirement, chassis depth, installed weight, center of gravity, mounting information, connector locations, cooling requirements, cable-routing plan, power requirements, transportation environment, and any available drawings. Cases2Go can help determine whether the SKB 1SKB-R906U20 is suitable for the complete equipment package.
