Mobile 4U Rack and Laptop Workstation

The SKB 1SKB-iSF4U combines deeper rack-mounted electronics and an adjustable laptop or monitor work area in one rolling case. This configuration is suitable for mobile recording, audiovisual production, communications, control, testing, presentation, and field-support applications that require equipment to remain organized and accessible during transportation and operation.

The four-unit rack section provides approximately 7 inches of vertical mounting space and 15 inches between the front and rear rails. Approximately 16.75 inches is available from either rack rail to the opposite lid, providing added clearance for compatible controls, connectors, cable bends, and other equipment projections.

Molded-in front and rear square rack rails are pre-installed with cage nuts for mounting compatible 19-inch rack equipment. The 15-inch rail depth can accommodate deeper compatible electronics than the 2U Studio Flyer, but the complete equipment package must be checked for chassis, connector, cable, ventilation, and lid-clearance requirements.

The upper section provides an approximately 21 × 15.5-inch adjustable work surface for a compatible laptop or monitor. Eight rubber cleats can be positioned around the equipment to help limit movement during transportation.

The injection-molded shell is impact-resistant and incorporates built-in quiet-glide wheels, a one-button retractable pull handle, and Travel Sentry® Approved locking latches. The exterior is molded to stack securely with compatible SKB Standard Roto Racks for organized transportation and storage.

This is a hard-mounted rack case and does not contain a shock-isolated rack frame. SKB also advises that the 4U Studio Flyer is not sized for airline carry-on use and recommends an appropriate shock-protected Fly Rack when equipment must be checked or shipped. Confirm any required shock, vibration, ingress-protection, environmental, military, transportation, or contract standard before ordering.
